Harare Kombis now charging RTGS$4.
Trips which were charging RTGS$1.5 to RTGS$2.0 in the morning are now being charged RTGS$2.5 in Harare. Following several reports that fuel prices have gone up, commuter omnibus operators immediately hiked their fares.
Reports suggest that for the same distances, commuter omnibus operators are already charging RTGS$4.0. The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority has however refuted the reports saying that prices have not been reviewed.
Secretary in the Finance Ministry, George Guvamatanga further said current prices need to be maintained. Meanwhile, Energy minister has promised remedial action against fuel operators who are hiking fuel prices.
