GOVT TO INTRODUCE MASS BUS SYSTEM

GOVT TO INTRODUCE MASS BUS SYSTEM | The Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing says it will introduce mass bus system to revamp urban transportation.

GOVT TO INTRODUCE MASS BUS SYSTEM

This came out at the luncheon to mark the official opening of the 5th session of the 8th parliament of Zimbabwe.The urban transport sector especially in the capital city is characterised by traffic congestion and chaos due to illegal operators.

It is against this background that the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing is working on revamping the sector to bring order in urban areas.

Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Cde Kasukuwere said his ministry is working on infrastructure development to ensure every citizen has access to descent accommodation.

Minister of Rural Development, Preservation and Promotion of National Culture and Heritage Cde Abednico Ncube said his ministry is committed to partnering other government departments to improve livelihoods of citizens.

Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko who was the guest of honour at the luncheon proposed a toast in honour of President Robert Mugabe.

The luncheon which is hosted by the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing creates an opportunity for parliamentarians to interact with the business community.
