Gospel Star ‘Magaya’ Weds
Popular gospel group, Vabati VaJehovah’s leader Richard Magaya tied the knot with his wife of 15 years over the weekend.
The wedding took place at Swan Creek in Chishawasha, where the first family of Gospel — Baba naMai Charamba led an entourage of musicians who included Mathias Mhere, Chegutu sensation Chiedza Chevatendi, jiti musician Baba Harare and Kudzi Nyakudya among many other musicians.
Magaya, whose late brothers Wiseman, Khumbulani and Timothy rocked the music scene with some finest choral music in the late 1990s running to the late 2000s, described his wedding to Patience Matore as ‘wonderful’.
“It has been 15 years since we got married and we were blessed with three children — two girls and one boy.
“I just want to thank God ndivo vakaita kuti zvose zvibudirire saizvozvi. Ndotenda my wife nerudo rwechokwadi rwaanondipa, nevose vakauya including ma artiste, hama neshamwari,” said Magaya.
All musicians, who attended the wedding ceremony, took turns to perform but without live bands keeping people on their feet all day long.
