Prince Tinashe who hails from Gweru — said had it not been for the exposure he got while he was part of the Praise and Worship team at PHD Ministries, he would still be unknown.

“I started singing at a tender age, but my journey began in 2014 after joining Gweru based Joyful Praise Choir. “In February of 2015, a friend took me to perform at Prophet Walter Magaya’s church which was a great opportunity for me. “Since 2015, I was playing instruments and singing at PHD Ministries which propelled me to be a confident singer, standing in front of thousands of people.

“As you know, kwa Prophet kunoenda vanhu vakawanda and that boosted my confidence on stage,” he said. “International artistes who were invited for big functions at church motivated me while local artistes like Mahendere, Takesure Zamar and Sabastian Magacha among others encouraged me.

“This is passion, not that I do it for money, and I want to preach the gospel through music. “I then left PHD Ministries in 2017. I relocated to South Africa in 2018 as a way to propel my music.” Prince Tinashe, who is riding high with his latest offering Itsika Yake Mwari, will be working on videos this year.

“I am currently riding high with my new offering Itsika Yake Mwari after being inspired by my parents. “The project is a dedication to my mother who died in 2017, and she would always tell me that it’s all God’s plan.

“This year I will be working on collaborations, videos, and a new album. “My father introduced me to music. I was told that he would always say I should work for God and that drove me to start this journey while I was still young,” he said.
