FOUR NABBED OVER $12-MILLION THEFT

FOUR Ruwa men were yesterday hauled to court charged with unlawful entry in aggravated circumstances after they reportedly broke into a house and stole cash and valuables worth $12 million.

Wellington Zhuwaki, Wellington Shamuyarira, Joseph Rusenga and Cloud Mudawanatsa were not asked to plead when they appeared before Harare magistrate Isheanesu Matova.

Allegations are that on February 19, the complainant secured his property at his house, Plot number 7 Tarisa Road in Ruwa and made sure that he has closed all windows and locked all doors.

The statement alleged that on February 20, the four suspects commenced night security duties at the plot and were supposed to safeguard the Accounts office, workshop and all the property on the premises but they however connived to steal from the complainant while they were on duty.

The court heard that they broke into the toilet and gained access into the whole house and gained access into the Accounts Office and strong room which were not locked and stole cash US$140 000, an HP laptop, three Samsung cellphones, ZW$3000 and went away.
