Former Zanu PF Senator Monica Chigudu dies
FORMER Zanu PF Senator for Masvingo, Monica Chigudu has died.
She was 90.
Chigudu died at around 6am at Masvingo 24 Hour Medical Centre in Zimre Park on Thursday.
Her daughter Sally confirmed the death, telling The Mirror that mourners were gathered at her house along Chigudu Street in Mucheke in Masvingo.
“It’s true our mother has passed on. She left a gap that no one can fill,” said Sally.
She said her veteran lawmaker succumbed to high blood pressure and diabetes. She was admitted to Target Kopje 24Hour Medical Center the night before, before being transferred to Zimre Park where she died.
Burial arrangements are yet to be announced.
She is survived by six children, one boy and five girls.
