Football Sponsor Commits Suicide

A SOMBRE mood engulfed City of Kadoma yesterday after news of the death of prominent football sponsor, Herbert Manyowa filtered through.

Manyowa, who was co-director at CUMA FC committed suicide by taking cyanide on Tuesday evening. CUMA FC is co-owned by the late Manyowa and former Warriors hit-man Cuthbert Malajila, who is based in South Africa Reliable sources say the youthful football bene-factor died around 9 pm at Sarudzai Health Center in Rimuka.

Reasons behind the suicide are still sketchy but unconfirmed reports suggest a dispute between the businessman and his ‘small house’.

“I heard that he had a dispute with his small house who later smashed windows of his white AMG Mercedes Benz Kompressor before she headed for his matrimonial home where the exchanged harsh words with his spouse,” said a close source.

The deceased was a popular figure in Kadoma for his efforts in the development of football. His team is supposed to compete in Northern Region Division One League this season.

Institutional development sides would be maintained in Division Two and Kadoma Area Zone League, according to an interview H-Metro conducted with him at the beginning national lockdown period.

Using personal resources, the soft-spoken football administrator teamed up with the council in renovating Rimuka Stadium.
