Fishing expedition goes wrong, man bitten by crocodile.

Mashonaland East Police Spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the incident. In a tragic incident, a Hopely man allegedly lost his life when he was fatally attacked by a crocodile while he was fishing.

” On May 8 this year around 3 pm, Paul Nyamhanza, 27, who was in the company of Jeremiah Nyamhanza at Ellendale Farm dam in Beatrice whilst casting fishing nets when Paul was allegedly attacked by a crocodile, while Jeremiah was lucky to escape unscathed.”

”Jeremiah went to the National Parks and Wildlife officers where he made a report,” said Insp Mwanza.

National Parks and Wildlife members rushed to the scene and managed to recover the body from the dam, but there was no limb and private parts. ” the crocodile was not located and then a report was them made at the ZRP Beatrice and investigations are still in progress.

Insp Mwanza has appealed to members of the public to avoid venturing into the crocodile-infested waters so as to preserve life and avoid incidents.
