Father disowns son over housebreaking
A 53-year-old Harare man left a packed courtroom in stitches after he disowned his 17-year-old son who is in the habit of breaking into houses and stealing goods.
The man who is a teacher by profession told the court that on the 10th of last month while he was asleep, the boy broke into his bedroom and stole a pair of shoes, 3 pairs of trousers, 3 shirts, 3 blankets 1 bedspread, 4 textbooks and a two-liter bottle of cooking oil.
The man-made a police report after discovering that his belongings were missing and the boy had disappeared.
He told the court that his relations with neighbors have been strained because of his son’s uncouth behavior.
In his ruling magistrate, Richard Ramabuwa remanded the minor into his father’s custody to the 16th of this month for the continuation of trial.
