Energy Minister Chasi fires warning shots at Sir Wicknell.

Minister of Energy and Power Development, Fortune Chasi has said that the government is going to withdraw licences for investors who failed to deliver on solar power projects.

Fortune ChasiThis seems directed at controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo who won a tender for the construction of the Gwanda Solar Power Project in 2015 but is yet to show any meaningful progress apart from a few cabins and buildings.

WICKNEL CLEARED AFTER STEALING $5 MILLION, MPHOKO & WIFE TRIAL DATE SETChasi has insisted that he is going to recover the US$5 million which the government advanced to Chivayo in irregular circumstances. In a video, the Minister said: Licences to deliver solar projects are being reviewed. Where people have no capacity to deliver on a project, those licences will be withdrawn and be given to someone who has. The system of people applying for getting licences for speculative reasons is over.
