Emmerson Mnangagwa Junior Hires 3 Helicopters For Cyclone Idai Relief
One of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s children, Emmerson Junior has hired three helicopters to assist with the recovery efforts for victims of Cyclone Idai in Chimanimani, Manicaland Province.
At least 104 people have been confirmed dead while more than 500 are missing after the area felt the toll of the cyclone which has been described as possibly the worst to hit Southern Africa.
Two of the helicopters will support the ongoing search and rescue operation and transport stranded people while the third will be used to transport doctors to provide urgent medical services.
In a statement to The Herald, a spokesperson for Emmerson Junior said,
The helicopters have been immediately dispatched to the affected areas. All Zimbabweans are responsible for one another. Let us all continue to do what we can to assist our brothers and sisters in their hour of need.
