Drama As Zanu PF & ‘Mugabe’s Party’ Clash In Vicious Political Debate

A public debate between President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s special advisor and Zanu Pf member Christopher Mutsvangwa and National Patriotic Front (NPF) spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire came to a dramatic twist when the two started exchanging harsh words PF & ‘Mugabe’s party’ clash

Factions re-emerge in Zanu PF as military presence takes precedence

The debate was organised by the Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) for mainstream political parties to discuss theor policies on candidate selection and give an insight on their ongoing campaigns.

Mutsvangwa was irked by Mawarire, who was accusing Mnangagwa’s close relative Tarirai David Mnangagwa of being a corrupt foreign currency dealer whom he believes is a chief player in the country’s black market cash reserve,

The two then got into a nasty spat bringing the whole house to a standstill.

“The accusations if indeed they have any basis of fact, they are very grave. I do hope the gentleman that uttered those accusations and mentioned those names will get a chance to defend them before the court of law,” Mutsvangwa said.

A defiant Mawarire refused to apologize for his utterances towards Mutsvangwa and his superiors in Zanu PF, while maintaining that the alleged corruption case by Mnangagwa’s relative was on record with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission.

“I will not apologise if at all you want me to apologise because this information has a docket at the Anti-Corruption Commission and it is on record,” Mawarire responded.

Mawarire also kept on referring to the ruling party as “Junta PF” during his speeches further annoying Mutsvangwa, who ended up calling the whole debate a sham.

Tempers only cooled down when Mavambo/Kusile/Dawn leader Simba Makoni came to the aid of the moderator, veteran journalist Violet Gonda who had failed to calm the waters by urging all political players and panellists to embrace politics of tolerance and engage on discourse maturely.
