A daring 62-year-old Bubi man has reportedly been terrorizing women by grabbing or touching their breasts as they walked home from fetching water.
The most recent offense took place on 12 and 13 March 2021 and the victims are two women aged 17 and 26.
It was reported that on 12 March 2021 and at around 10 am, George Moyo, an alleged serial groper, ambushed his 26-year-old neighbor on her way home from fetching water. It was reported that when he saw her, Moyo drew closer and fondled her breasts as she walked by.
Further allegations are that the following day, Moyo using the same modus operandi, is accused of making similar assaults on a 17-year-old girl. He is alleged to have put his hand on her shoulder before he shoved it inside her dress and tried to fondle her breasts.
The girl reportedly pushed him away before she ran away and alerted her parents, who later reported the matter to the police leading to Moyo’s arrest.
Moyo was dragged before Bulawayo magistrate Rachel Mukanga charged with two counts of indecent assault.
B-Metro reports that Moyo was not asked to plead and was remanded out of custody on $1 500 bail.
In other news, Two students at Harare Polytechnic have been suspended by college authorities for hugging on campus on Monday.
Yolanda Musithu, a female student doing National Diploma in Office Management with the institution, and Blessing Pasipanodya, were suspended on Thursday.
