Coronavirus/COVID-19 Update as at 12 May 2022.
Zimbabwe Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 12 May 2022 noted an increase in new Coronavirus Cases compared to those recorded on the 11th. Pindula News presents the update:
• 165 New Cases (All local) and 0 Deaths reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases rises to 113 from 104 (yesterday)
• Vaccination Update: 33 214 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 6 009 239, 64 512 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 4 092 814 while 16 436 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 692 409.
• As of 11 May 2022, @1500hrs there were (45) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (8), Asymptomatic (2), mild to moderate (34), severe (2) and (7) in Intensive Care Units. 20 of the 45 hospitalized were vaccinated and 25 were not vaccinated.
• 2 304 tests done today (Positivity today was 7.2 %)
• 46 new recoveries: National Recovery Rate remains at 97% & Active cases rise to 1 158.
• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 248 943 Cases 242 304 recoveries & 5 481 Deaths.
