Zimbabwe is part of the seven African countries that will benefit from the initiative. The other nations are South Africa, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Zambia and Nigeria.

Thirty local players aged 18-25 years old will be selected around the country by a panel of selectors which include Kalisto Pasuwa, Cosmas Zulu, Naison Machekela and Alois Bunjura.

Chelsea scouts will then come down and assess the finalists, choosing the most outstanding player who will represent the country in Africa XI that will clash against Chelsea legends.

The Africa XI will also get a chance to be at the club’s Cobham Training Ground.
