Chamisa deemed ‘NOT FIT’ to lead MDC Alliance
A commentator James Gordon Phiri has said People’s Democratic Party leader Tendai Biti can lead the MDC Alliance better than MDC-T Vice President Nelson Chamisa in case of Morgan Tsvangirai stepping down.
The remarks come in the wake of Tsvangirai having hinted possibility of him stepping down to leave the levers of power in the hands of youth.
“I think (and i could be wrong) Tendai Biti will make a better leader of the MDC Alliance than Nelson Chamisa. He is the better leader. He speaks with authority and sounds well informed on Zimbabweans issues.
Even when they went to the US late last year, Biti did all the speaking. Ane kamwe kahuboworangoma kandinoda so. Politics is not for the faint hearted,” Phiri said.
“Chamisa is too boyish for me.When he speaks he sounds rehearsed. Plus too much vhangeri. He does not have what it takes to take on the ruthless and well oiled political machine that is Zanu PF. Everyone knows prayer does not work.
He is also Tsvangirai’s yes man. He can lead the MDC but let the former finance minister lead the MDC Alliance.”
