Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Harare today, Chamisa’s Spokesperson Dr Nkululeko Sibanda said his boss is worried by the current human rights situation in the country which he said is aimed at denying people the chance to challenge the election results.

“The current raids are to ensure that people are denied the chance to challenge the elections results, people should be allowed to enjoy their freedoms,” said Sibanda.

He called for an end to midnight raids at his members’ houses adding that continued threats of violence against his supporters and leadership is concerning.

Sibanda told journalists that Chamisa is setting up a strong legal team as he prepares to file his case against what he said is denial of people’s will by ZEC.

“We have been asked by President elect to deliver his statement, he has appointed a strong legal team and is busy working with various structures to ensure he protect the vote

“The data from ZEC disapproves the authenticity of the declared results and speaks to our concerns, there was deflating and inflating of numbers,” added Sibanda.

He added that Chamisa is not seeking to overturn the elections but the declaration which was against the outcome of the elections which he alleged to have won.

Speaking on the court challenge against results announced by ZEC, Sibanda said it will be naïve for them to place hope in the courts as they are captured by Zanu PF.

He accused ZEC Chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba of refusing to give his party 21% of the V11 forms saying they can only corroborate with the information they get from the electoral management body.
