Castle Lager Premiership League: Ten-man CAPS squeeze a point
CAPS United found a way to settle for a point in the Castle Lager Premiership League, despite playing a man short against the Black Rhinos in battle at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.
Makepekepe had to play the last quarter of the game with 10 men after Marshall Machazane was given a red card when he hit Eli Ilunga in the face.
CAPS United coach, Lloyd Chitembwe, was satisfied with the point.
He however refused to comment on the red card incident.
“I thought the performance was okay and the result, considering the circumstances in which the match penned out, yeah, it’s deserved.
“I think the overall performance was okay so I can only talk of the overall performance not what could’ve and what couldn’t have happened.
“Going forward we need to work on all concepts.
“I’m happy we seem to be having the right kind of team we want so, going forward, we stand a good chance,” he said.
Makepekepe gave Emmanuel Mandiranga his debut.
“He did what I expected of him,” he said.
Black Rhinos coach Herbert Maruwa said they missed their chances.
“We started slowly but when we came back in the second half, we were organised and created a lot of chances.
“We created four or five chances we were supposed to bury but I’m happy.
“In every game, there’s a win, draw or lose so today we settled for a draw.
“We need to go back and make sure we improve the finishing aspect of our game,” he said.
