All set for Zim’s Got Talent
The first edition of a new talent show, Zim Got Talent (ZGT), is set to be launched on July 1 while registration processes are underway.
The show, which is tailoured by Shoka Events Zim led by Keith Mpame the (C.E.O) and Hip-Hop music promoter Taona Matvai’s (Iam Prezzo) Team Legacy ZW Entity, is aimed at searching and scouting talented children, youths and adults and help them nurture their talent.
Speaking to one of the directors Mpame, he said that this show does not segregate hence he called upon both urbanites and those from the rural areas to take part in the competition.
“This show is different from Starbrite because we are going all out and deep into the rural areas looking for talent which is basically an ideal International vision of a national talent show.
“Registration to take part in the show is currently underway and the individuals, group acts and all contestants can register with $5 only.
“Since this is a start-up initiative, registration fees will help in covering the venue fees, PA paraphernalia as well as other sundry expenses,” he said.
Mpame went on to make an open call, inviting potential stakeholders who might be interested in becoming a part of this grand initiative to come through.
“We are open to proposals from companies offering investment deals or those that would want to come on board with ideas.
“This is a chance to uplift our entertainment industry while boosting those that have potential careers in entertainment thus interested parties should not hesitate,” said Mpame.
Prezzo the Executive manager said that he is quite happy with the support coming from artistes who are overly excited about the show.
“It’s good that the show is being accepted in all corners and as organisers we cannot disappoint considering the support that we are getting locally, its impressive.
“The show is already promising and people are already waiting for it.
“This talent show is going to run in major and minor cities as well as towns across Zimbabwe over a six-months’ time span with the grand finale show slated for Harare,” he said.
He also added that, Zim’s Got Talent will have various headline acts from Zimbabwe’s showbiz personalities mostly.
“As the organisers we have decided that we will release our official presenters, co-hosts and judges in a press release in April.
“Our show will be graced by a lot of artistes and performances from our very own showbiz nevertheless international acts can be expected towards the events finale.
“All the chapters of the competitions will be live-streamed for now however the organisers are still negotiating with local and international television channels to air the show,” said Prezzo.
The events management team consists of videographers, video editors, judges, co-hosts, stage managers, executive producers, financial department, operations department and many more.
