An Air Zimbabwe plane has landed in the Chinese capital, Beijing, to transport coronavirus vaccines donated to Zimbabwe by the People’s Republic of China, an official at the Chinese Embassy in Harare has revealed.
According to the Minister counsellor of the Chinese embassy, Zhao Baogang, the plane will arrive in Zimbabwe with 200 000 doses of vaccines on Monday. Zhao said via Twitter:
An Air Zimbabwe plane has already landed in Beijing and will transport 200 000 doses of vaccines donated by China back to Zimbabwe tomorrow morning. Congratulations.
The Government has also confirmed that the vaccines will arrive at 3 AM tomorrow at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.
A delegation led by Vice President and Health and Child Care Minister Dr Constantino Chiwenga will receive the consignment, the Sunday Mail reports.
