69 hospitalized COVID-19 cases are severe and 10 of them were in ICU. This was contained in a daily update that was published by the Ministry of Health that also stated that a total of 148 people are hospitalized due to the infamous virus.
The ministry provided the following statistics and stated that 2 hospitals in Bulawayo did not report:
As of 1 February 2021 @2021, there were 148 hospitalised cases, 79 mild to moderate, 59 severe and 10 in ICU Units, NB. Mater Dei and Thorngrove Hospitals did not report.
The data also showed that Harare remains the epicenter of the virus, after recording 11 out of 20 deaths for the day. 107 out of 260 new cases recorded on 2 February also came from the capital. 127 of the 211 recoveries were recorded in Harare and the highest number of tests were conducted in the Capital City.
Meanwhile, China said Zimbabwe is among 14 third world countries that will receive the vaccine produced by the Asian giant first.
