BULAWAYO Chiefs have offloaded striker Farau Matare to the ambitious Zifa Northern Region Division One side, MWOS, in a lucrative deal aimed at bolstering their squad.
The transfer was confirmed by Allen Mpofu, the media liaison officer for Bulawayo Chiefs, who expressed gratitude for Matare’s contributions to the team while wishing him success at his new club.
MWOS, determined to secure promotion this season after finishing fourth in the previous campaign, has reinforced their technical team by appointing former Harare City coach Joseph “Shabba” Takaringofa as the team’s first assistant coach. Takaringofa joins head coach Lloyd Mutasa, with whom he previously worked at Dynamos and GreenFuel.

In their preparations for the upcoming season, MWOS hosted friendly matches against Zimbabwe’s prominent teams, including Highlanders, Dynamos, and CAPS United, at their Ngoni Stadium. This initiative marked the first time Norton had hosted such prominent teams, demonstrating the club’s commitment to uplifting the community.
MWOS president, Patrick Tamson, has shown remarkable dedication to inspiring hope in the community, echoing the sentiment of pride associated with producing notable talents like Knowledge and Walter Musona.
